I'm the published author of several gay romance novels, including Riding Heartbreak Road and In Bear Country, as well as many short stories and novellas.
I firmly believe that gay romance should be available in the mainstream, on the shelves of the big box bookstores.
It irritates me that these large stores lump gay fiction and non-fiction together on two itty bitty shelves, and then stick them in the back of the store wedged in between Philosophy and World History. It also burns my bottom that they label such works "Gay and Lesbian Studies." You don't see them labeling straight romance "Heterosexual Studies." Sheesh.
